Business
Guiding principle?

Motivate and utilize individual strengths and abilities to the fullest to make a strong successful team.

How do you keep a competitive edge?

I make a point to stay up on the latest technology (software, hardware, applications, etc.) and find unique ways to incorporate those tools into my work.

Goal yet to achieve?

I just received my CPSM, so I think I’m set for the moment.  ;-)  I’m the kind of person who regularly sets small goals, creates a plan of attack, and then achieves them.

Anything obscure, marketing subject or otherwise, that you know more about than the average person?

I enjoy reading about and “tinkering” with new technology.  If I wasn’t in marketing, I would probably be a computer geek.  I’m fairly certain I know way too much about CSS, HTML, Flash, etc.

About You

Best business decision ever made:

Joining University Mechanical Contractors, Inc.

Mentor:

I’ve had many in my life and all for very different reasons.  Overall I would have to say my parents because they taught me how to be a strong, compassionate independent thinker.

Word that best describes you:

Tenacious

Like best about your job:

I think I get the biggest kick out of helping someone who thinks they have an impossible task. To their pleasant surprise, I’ll turn it around quickly and solve their problem.  Done!  Turning the impossible into the possible…I love that!

Pet peeves:

People who use ALL CAPS in an e-mail.  People who complain non-stop about things without stepping up to help make things better.

Most important lesson learned:

Don’t obsessively worry about things you cannot control.

First choice for a new career:

Graphic Designer and/or IT

Favorite quote:

“Ability may get you to the top, but it takes character to keep you there.”

- John Wooden

Fast Facts
List anything unique about you that gives our chapter some insight into what you’re made of. After graduating from college, I played professional basketball overseas for a couple seasons.  It was a great experience living on my own, away from family and friends.  I had to learn a new language, culture, and lifestyle which was difficult at times, but in the end very rewarding.
